Italy is a garden. Of rural aesthetic research

Curated by Geraldine Blais

In an attempt to undertake an aesthetic reflection around those contemporary artistic phenomenologies that direct the creative dimension towards the natural environment, the exhibition itinerary identifies sensitivities and practices that interpret the habitat as the result of a syntonic experience and harmonious balance between man and nature, setting up an expressive repertoire that restores to the meaning of locus, images and figurations of the landscape and rural life, attitudes and gestures of peasants, farmers and shepherds. The exhibition brings together some of the most significant presences on the Italian scene – Chiara Camoni, Francesco Carone, Gianluca Concialdi, Diego Perrone, Alberto Scodro, Sofia Silva, Silvia Stefani, Danilo Vitali – who place at the centre of their investigation the experience with nature, now observed, contemplated, shared, included and used, as an interpretative solution to the cultural language of our times.
