ROBERTO GIANOLA

Roberto Gianola was born in Lecco on February 4, 1974 and is currently considered to be one of the youngest and most interesting conductors of the new generation.

At only 34 years of age, he made his debut in New York’s prestigious Carnegie Hall where he conducted in January 2009 with great success in the Great Hall.

In a short time he began important collaborations with orchestras all over the world that invited him repeatedly to conduct in the USA, Russia, Mexico, Austria, France, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Hungary, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Brazil, Venezuela, Greece, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.

He is currently Permanent Director at the Istanbul Opera House where he made his debut in February 2015 with great success conducting The Tales of Hoffmann (Offenbach) and where he has been a protagonist throughout the three-year period 2015/2018 in the opera, ballet and symphonic repertoires. He opened the Ballet season conducting Sylvia by L.Delibes, The  Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky and Faust by Gounod, Traviata, Ernani, Don Pasquale for opera.

He has already conducted over 50 different orchestras around the world including the New England Symphony in New York, the Washington University Symphony Orchestra in the United States, the Orchestra State of Parana in Brazil, the Orchestra del Estado de Mexico, the Orchestra de Guanajuato and the Orchestra de Belles Artes in Mexico, the Krasnoyarsk Symphony Orchestra in Russia, the Orchestra del la Region de Murcia in Spain, the Orchestra of Klaghenfurt in Austria, the North Czech Philharmonic in Prague, the Karkov Symphony Orchestra in Ukraine, the Enescu Philharmonic in Bucharest, the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra in New Orleans and the Riverside Orchestra in the United States, the Tenerife Orchestra, the Bratislava Orchestra, the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra in Turkey, the Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra in Venezuela, the Orchestra de Cascais in Portugal, the Novi Sad Symphony Orchestra in Serbia and, in Italy, the Arena di Verona Orchestra, the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan, the Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana of Palermo, the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana of Piacenza, the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico of Vicenza, the Orchestra della Magna Grecia of Taranto, the Orchestra of the Province of Bari and the Sanremo Symphonic Orchestra.

Specializing in opera, he has conducted all the traditional operas in numerous performances: Traviata, Nabucco, Rigoletto, Trovatore, Aida, Simon Boccanegra, Falstaff, Otello, Ernani, Madama Butterfly, Tosca, La Boheme, Manon Lescaut, Turandot, Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Cavalleria Rusticana, Pagliacci, Adriana Lecouvreur, Barbiere di Siviglia, Carmen, Don Pasquale, Elisir d’amore, Lucia di Lammermoore, Norma and Cenerentola.
