Bellano and Discovera | New train travel packages to explore Bellano with Trenord
The Municipality of Bellano has joined Discovera, the first travel mobility platform in partnership with Trenord, which integrates tourism and transportation services to offer sustainable and easily accessible travel experiences. Through the platform, visitors can purchase packages with a simple click that combine train travel with cultural and nature-based experiences, promoting slow, mindful, and environmentally friendly tourism.
Among the new offerings available on the platform are two excursion packages dedicated to Bellano, designed to highlight the town’s main attractions and its scenic and cultural heritage.
The packages include train travel from anywhere in Lombardy to the Bellano Tartavalle Terme station and access to the area’s main attractions.

Bellano Gorge
The first package focuses on the Bellano Gorge, one of the most picturesque natural sites on Lake Como. It is a spectacular natural gorge formed about 1.5 million years ago by the erosion of the Pioverna stream and the action of the Adda Glacier, which over the millennia have shaped the rock, creating gigantic potholes, deep ravines, and dramatic caves. The narrow canyon can now be explored thanks to a system of walkways anchored to the rocky walls overlooking the water, recently expanded to allow visitors to reach the large waterfall located further upstream. The narrow spaces, the play of light on the walls and the water, the lush vegetation, and the roar of the waterfalls create a unique atmosphere that has always captivated visitors and artists alike.
BAC Bellano Art and Culture
The second package also allows you to discover BAC Bellano Art and Culture, a cultural itinerary that winds through the town’s historic center and connects three important cultural sites: the Bellano Gorge, San Nicolao Contemporary Art, and Giancarlo Vitali Museum.
Giancarlo Vitali Museum, housed in the ground-floor rooms of Palazzo Lorla, features the permanent collection of the Bellano-born painter and engraver Giancarlo Vitali (1929–2018). The exhibition presents a significant selection of his extensive body of work, including over one hundred paintings created over a period of approximately seventy years.
San Nicolao Contemporary Art, a former church deconsecrated in the mid-19th century, is now a space dedicated to contemporary art exhibitions and also houses the permanent collection of copper works by artist Danilo Vitali (Bellano, 1935).
Discovera project is founded on the values of environmental respect and the promotion of sustainable tourism. The packages offered allow visitors to reach Bellano comfortably by train, reducing the impact of car traffic on the area and enabling a more relaxed and authentic visit. A simple and innovative way to discover Lake Como and Bellano’s heritage, without the stress of traffic, searching for parking, or a rushed “hit-and-run” itinerary, but through an integrated travel experience that combines sustainable mobility, nature, and culture.
